Some of them are still quarried and have important uses in industry. Quartz, calcite, aragonite, strontianite, ankerite, dolomite, barite, witherite, olivine, biotite, muscovite, riebeckite, enstatite, hornblende, aegerine, and sanidine are found in all rocks.
Petalite, cryolite, euclase, zinnwaldite, lepidolite, eudialyte, sodalite, nepheline, analcime, leucite, nosean, haüyne, mesorite, natrolite, phillipsite, chabazite, stilbite, heulandite, prehnite, apophyllite, laumontite, harmotome, tremolite, okenite, and cavansite are found in igneous rocks.
Alunite, montmorillionite, illite, kaolinite, halite, chamosite, glauconite, gypsum, glauberite, sylvite, colemanite, borax, and anhydrite are found in sedimentary rocks.
Glaucophane, clinochlore, talc, piemontite, anthophyllite, magnesite, brucite, serpentine, clinozoisite, andalusite, benitoite, uvarovite, chloritoid, sillimanite, staurolite, vesuvianite, axinite, wollastonite, scapolite and graphite are found in metamorphic rocks.
